This Privacy Policy explains how Srishti Dance Academy ("we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. It applies to https://www.srishtiacademy.com/, our registration forms (paper and online), and our classes and events. Our contact details are in Section 13.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us:

• Student details: name, date of birth, address, phone, and email.
• Dance background: dance forms studied, years of experience, and dance form of interest.
• Parent or guardian details: name, phone, email, and relationship to the student.
• Emergency and health information: emergency contact, medical conditions, allergies, and injuries (only what you choose to share).
• Payment information: plan purchased, amounts, dates, and billing name. Card details are handled by our payment processor, not by us.
• Signatures: signed registration forms, waivers, and policy acknowledgments.
• Communications: messages, inquiries, and reviews you send us by email, phone, forms, or social media.
• Photos and videos: images and recordings from classes and performances, subject to your photo and video consent choice.

 

Information collected automatically:

When you visit our website, our website platform and its tools may collect device and usage data automatically. This can include your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, referring URLs, and approximate location. It is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).

3. How We Use Information

 

We use personal information to:

  • process registrations, place students in classes, and manage attendance;

  • collect tuition, deposits, and fees, and keep financial records;

  • contact you about schedules, closures, makeup classes, performances, and account matters;

  • keep students safe, including handling medical emergencies and pickup;

  • organize performances and events;

  • promote the Academy with photos and videos, subject to your media consent choice;

  • send newsletters or promotional messages if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time);

  • run, secure, and improve the Website;

  • meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

 
4. Children's Privacy

  • Our classes serve children, but the Website is intended for adults. Children must not submit personal information through the Website. A Parent/Guardian provides all information about a minor.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly, as required by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • We share a minor's information only as needed to run the Academy (for example, with instructors and emergency responders). We never publish a minor's last name or contact details.

  • Parents/Guardians may review, correct, or ask us to delete their child's information at any time (Section 10).

5. How We Share Information

We share personal information only with:

  • Instructors and staff, as needed to teach and supervise students;

  • Service providers that work on our behalf, such as our website host (Wix.com), payment processors (for example, Wix Payments, Stripe, or PayPal), email and messaging providers, and cloud storage. They may use the information only to provide services to us;

  • Event organizers and venues, but only the minimum needed (for example, a performer's first name) when a student performs;

  • Emergency responders and medical providers, in an emergency;

  • Legal and safety recipients, when the law requires it or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of students, families, staff, or others;

  • A successor business, if the Academy is sold, merged, or reorganized. That business will be bound by this Policy.

6. Text Messages and Email
​

If you give us your phone number, we may text you about classes, closures, and account matters. We send marketing texts only with your express consent. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing, we may still send messages about your account and your student's safety.

 

7. Cookies and Analytics

The Website uses cookies set by Wix and, where enabled, by analytics or embedded content providers (for example, Google Analytics, Google Maps, YouTube, Instagram, or Facebook). These cookies help the Website work, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the site is used. Our Website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

8. Data Retention
​

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this Policy:

  • Enrollment and payment records: for the duration of enrollment plus up to [5] years for tax and accounting purposes.

  • Signed waivers: for at least [4] years after the student's last activity. For minors, until [4] years after the student turns 18, to cover the applicable limitation periods.

  • Health and emergency information: deleted or destroyed within [12] months after enrollment ends, unless it is part of an incident record.

  • Photos and videos: kept for archival and promotional use. We will stop future use if you withdraw consent.

 

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. Paper forms are kept in a locked location, and digital records are protected by access controls. Online payments are processed by PCI-DSS-compliant providers. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law, including the Florida Information Protection Act (Fla. Stat. §501.171).

 
10. Your Choices and Rights

 

You may ask to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you or your child;

  • correct inaccurate information;

  • delete information we are not legally required to keep;

  • withdraw consent for photos and videos or for marketing messages.

Email srishtidanceacademy@gmail.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within 30 days. Residents of other states may have additional rights under their own state laws. We will honor those rights where they apply.

11. Third-Party Links and Social Media

 

The Website may link to third-party sites and social media pages. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies. Anything you post publicly on our social media pages can be seen by others.

12. Changes to This Policy

​

We may update this Policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will notify enrolled families by email.
